Al-Karak – the castle of Ibrahim Al-Domour and his wife Alia, where Ahmad Al-Qassem, who is revolting against the Ottoman rule, takes refuge. Although the Ottomans imposed a siege on Al-Karak to force them into surrendering Al-Qassem, Alia and Ibrahim would rather lose their two sons than hand Al-Qassem over, for as Ibrahim’s wife said: “Children can be compensated for, but not homeland”.
