Al-Rasheed, had a conflict about which of his sons should succeed him. His minister pointed out that the covenant should be for Al-Amin and Al-Ma’moun as his successor, but his decision placed his two sons in the midst of a conflict of various aspects in that era and became a lesson in history about that historical era which is rich with politics and events.
